What is it?Records of fires attended by the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service. Records are broken down into fires started deliberately or accidentally; and into primary fires (e.g. houses, cars) and secondary fires (e.g. wheelie bins, grassland).

Example statistic:In 2014/15 there were 238 accidentally started primary fires, just four fires less than the previous year. The rate of these fires per 10,000 population is 27% lower than the England average. By contrast, the rate of deliberately started secondary fires is 70% higher than the England rate, although the number of these fires fell in 2014/15.
