GCSE results 2014

23 June 2015

What is it? The headline 2014 GCSE results have been added to the Observatory at LSOA, Priority Neighbourhood, ward, Seven Area and district levels.

Example statistic: In 2014, 58.2% of Wakefield pupils achieved 5 or more GCSE passes at grade C to A* including English and Mathematics. This was higher than the England average of 53.4%. At ward level the highest level of achievement was in Wrenthorpe and Outwood West ward (79.6%) and the lowest level was in Airedale and Ferry Fryston ward (38.3%).

In most cases the headline GCSE performance results are lower than last years results. This is due to reforms of the performance measures that have affected the counting of vocational qualifications and how results are counted when pupils have been entered for a subject on more than one occasion.
