Crime data from police.uk

12 September 2014

What is it? Data from the Home Office's police.uk website has been collated for the most recent calendar years and uploaded onto the Wakefield Observatory at a range of geographic scales, including wards and the seven areas. The data is also available to be viewed using an online map. The data covers anti-social behaviour, burglary, vehicle crime, criminal damage and arson, shoplifting, and other thefts.

Example statistic: In 2013, the highest burglary rate was in Knottingley ward (14.9 offences per 1,000 population; 205 offences), although the number of burglaries was down 14% compared to the previous year.

Where to find it: The tables and maps are available at Statistics ... Crime.
