Local Alcohol Profiles for England (LAPE)

09 May 2014

What is it? The LAPE tool presents data for 26 alcohol-related indicators in an interactive tool, which helps local areas assess alcohol-related harm and monitor the progress of efforts to reduce this. The suite of indicators was updated on 29th April 2014 and includes a new, narrower definition of alcohol-related hospital admissions in addition to the original broad definition (NI 19).

Example statistic: Wakefield has the highest rate of alcohol-related hospital admissions (narrow definition) for males in the the Yorkshire and Humber region, and the trend is upward. The rate of alcohol-specific admissions of under-18s is also the highest in the region, but the rate has fallen each year for the past five years.

Where to find it: A link to the LAPE web site can be found in Resources & Documents ... Wakefield: Health.
