New Seven Area Profiles

28 March 2014

What is it? A new version of the Seven Area Profile is now available. These dynamically-produced profiles replace the State of the Area reports that used to be published twice a year. The Seven Area profiles always draw upon the latest data on the Wakefield Observatory and new sources of data can be added at any time - a big advantage over the old biannual publciation. A Key Points analysis at the beginning of each profile has been produced by the Corporate Performance and Intelligence Team, Wakefield Council - these Key Points are updated at least twice a year.

What can you find in the Seven Area Profile? The profile is divided into sections covering a broad range of topics.

  • Population Profile
Population size; population change; ethnicity and language; religion; community cohesion; household structure; levels of deprivation; child poverty.
  • Employment and Skills
Local economy; employment; benefits; education and skills; NEET; Ofsted inspection results.
  • Housing and Infrastructure
Housing stock; fuel poverty; housing market; transport.
  • Health
General health; births and maternity; healthy lifestyles; disease and poor health; life expectancy; health and work.
  • Community Safety
    Fires; anti-social behaviour; crime.
  • Environment and Climate Change
Greenspace and wildlife; domestic energy consumption; street cleanliness; noise complaints.
