Business Register and Employment Survey 2012

What is it? The Business Register and Employment Survey (BRES) is a national annual survey of employees and employment carried out by the Office for National Statistics (ONS).

Example statistic: Around 15,500 people are employed in Manufacturing which represents 11.5% of workplace employment and is higher than the national average of 8.6%. This sector also has the highest share of full-time employment. Food and drink manufacturing has a strong presence in the district and particularly strong employment growth has occurred in manufacturing of clothing; electrical equipment and food products..
