Unemployment Bulletin January 2014

28 February 2014

What is it? The Wakefield Unemployment Bulletin is a concise analysis of the latest unemployment trends, with details of change over time and differences in benefit claiming rates across the district's wards. The January 2014 edition of the bulletin is now available.

Example statistic: Labour market data for January 2014 shows claimant count unemployment in the Wakefield district increased for the first time in nine months. It should be noted, however, that a rise in the unadjusted claimant count during January is expected and reflects seasonal working practices. The number of Wakefield district residents out of work and claiming Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) now stands at 7,236 or 3.5% of the working age population which is lower than the regional (3.9%) but slightly above that of GB as a whole (3.0%)..

Where to find it: The bulletin is available under Resources & Documents ... Wakefield: Economy and Skills ... Wakefield: Employment Analysis .
