Priority Neighbourhood Profile - improved

06 December 2013

What is it? In 2009, the Wakefield Together Partnership agreed to tackle inequalities and improve the quality of life at a neighbourhood level, notably those neighbourhoods that comprise the 10% most deprived in the district. Twelve ‘priority neighbourhoods’ were identified, varying in size, population make-up and character. The Priority Neighbourhood Profile on the Wakefield Observatory has now been improved to use a broader range of data including information from the 2011 Census. For each Priority Neighbourhood, the Profile includes information on the population, employment, housing, health and community safety.

Where to find it: The profile can be found at Profiles ... Wakefield Resources ... Wakefield Priority Neighbourhood Profile, and there is also a link on the left side of the Wakefield Observatory homepage.

The Priority Neighbourhood Profile has been developed by the Wakefield Council Corporate Performance and Intelligence Team. Profiles are being improved continually and suggestions for new data are always welcomed (e-mail: intelligence@wakefield.gov.uk).
