Wakefield: Housing

23.6% of household rent from a social landlord

187 households are homeless and in priority need (2013/14)

There were 298 affordable homes completed through planning in 2014/15 and 910 private house completions.

Background

  • The changing, ageing and diversifying population means that the need for affordable and accessible homes is as important now as it has ever been. The core challenges over the next four years are around: ensuring people have access to affordable homes that meet their long-term needs, are safe, warm and as far as possible are available in the communities where they want to live.
